Niagara Falls: Slowly I Turn, Step By Step…

Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls straddles the border between Canada and the United States near upstate New York. It forms the southern end of the Niagara Gorge.

The Falls has a vertical drop of 165 feet. Baseball player Ed Delahanty fell to his death here in 1903. Over the years, many people tried to plunge over the Falls in specially built barrels as publicity stunts.

Back in the 1950’s and 60’s, it used to be a very popular honeymoon spot.

“The Maid Of The Mist” floats along the bottom of the Falls to give passengers a waterside view of this natural attraction.

Erosion from the Falls causes the water’s edge to move backwards three to four inches every ten years.

Niagara Falls is renowned both for its beauty and as a valuable source of hydroelectric power. Click on the link below to see it now.
